CJ returned to Richer school as a first-grader, expert in all things "Richer" and feeling quite proud of the knowlege he could pass onto his younger brother. He commented the other day "I think I like being a first-grader". Then, two hours later, he said "I don't think I like being at school all day." Ambivalent as usual!
Harry started kindergarten this year - half-days in the afternoons with Mrs. Niemi - who CJ had last year. Umm, when did my youngest baby become a kindergartener? Could anyone fill me in on the last 5 years? :)
Both boys came off the bus on their first day smiling. CJ seems thrilled to finally get recess and regular art, music and gym classes (all these are reserved for first grade and up), as well as having lunch at school. Harry is just glad to join the "big kids" and has already commented several times that he wishes he were going all day like his brother.
And what I am doing with my time, you ask? Catching up on the last 5 years of course! I signed up as a substitute teacher for the preschool that the boys attended. I also have an opportunity to work with a neighbor doing merchandising for Lego company in preparation for the Christmas season. 50% off Lego products is one of the perks - now you all know what you're getting for Christmas! ;-) Oh, and let's not forget my obsessive planning for that surprise trip we're taking in December! I'll be busy enough -and let's face it - afternoon kindergarten is only 2 1/2 hours long!!
Happy Fall!

OH, God. They're growing way too fast. They sure look happy, though. We love your blog. Keep 'em coming!
And, Happy Birthday to you young lady. That's right, I think you've graduated from my 'little girl' to my 'young lady'.
